Ernie,
I live just across the River. We have 4 flying Lancairs in the immediate Detroit area. I would go to any fly-in that you have, even if I just drove across the bridge. I talked to Bill Harrelson about a race. He thought that he may even be able to help you set it up.
Send me your phone number and I will give you a call.
I am not sure about the problem with small "N" numbers and experimental planes. I have flown into Canada yet. The good news is that Canadian customs is easy to get in touch with at 888-CAN-PASS.
Hope to hear from you soon.
I just called 888-CAN-PASS to verify the number. They said that they didn't care about the size of the "N" numbers and didn't even know what experimental ment. What about the CAA? All that customs wanted was a 2 hour notice. They are open 24 hours. There is no charge at all for entering the country. Now getting back that could be another story. I know that I used to have to purchase a sticker every year when I flew to Canada. I will check with US Customs in the future, if someone else doesn't beat me to the punch.
Lorn
A Canadian friend and fellow Air Venture Cup Air Racer, Ernie Chauvin, has permitted me to forward his offer to host a race. If you are interested please shoot Ernie an email at echauvin5@cogeco.ca. Just think, the Winner could perhaps now be able to claim fastest LNC2 in all of North America. I guess I'll be going
