The manual recommends that the 1/4" AL lines which install into the header
tank for the site gauge, transfer lines, and vent line connection all be
wrapped on the inside of the tank with scraps of glass cloth... I tried
about 10 versions of scraps this afternoon before throwing my hands up in
disgust, as the edges just wouldn't lay down around that 1/4" OD.  If any
of you out there are preparing to do these layups, or have them looming
sometime off in the future, I came up with a much simpler and far less
frustrating solution to getting glass fibers around those tubes.

I had a few yards of heavy duty woven roving laying around from another
project... this is a very coarse weave, very thick glass fiber material
which has a standard weave, but is about 10 times as thick as the 7781
cloth we use on our airplanes.  I pulled several bundles of the
unidirectional fibers which make up the weave from the fabric, wetted out
about 4 inches from the center of a foot long bundle and wrapped the tubes
about 2 turns with it.  I locked the ends down under a single bid
and left the tails hanging to be trimmed after cure..  There's no way that
those tubes are going anywhere with that material on there, and the end
result is a much cleaner and thicker layup which is accomplished in a
single pass.

If any of you would like some of this stuff to get the job done, send me a
self-addressed stamped envelope with a note about how many tubes you need
to lock in, and I'll send you more than enough to get the job done.  My
mailing address is 109 Labelle Ave, Fort Myers, FL, 33905-2521.
