When I installed a 290 in my 235 I had some induction problems where it
would stumble at a lower RPM on take off. If I closed the RAM butterfly it
would run fine and after I was over 100kts then it would run fine except
one cylinder had a much lower EGT. By adjusting the RAM butterfly I was
able to even out the temperatures. I modified the lower cowl and increased
the heigth of the RAM air box and this solved the take-off stumble but I
still need to play with the butterfly setting to get the best EGTs.
