That sounds like a great idea.  Ideally there could be a rigid section and then one end that follows the gear leg that is flexible.  Please keep us informed!

Barry,

I am also working on the step installation, having the same problem with the guide tube.  Tim Ong suggested using flexible  speedometer cable sheath in place of the tubing.  He is supposed to e-mail me an automotive part # for a sheath that has been successfully used for this.  Anyone out there have any experience with this?  When Tim gets me the part # I’ll post it to the list.
