Good to see all the pictures.
I think the problem is answered, and the decal maker will have it as I
forwarded your email on to him.

Take a look at http://www.lancaironline.net/pix/olsen and look under the
"painting" album. You can see my painter friend pulling the vinyl
stencil mask off the tail numbers as well as the finished product of the
logo on the side of the fuselage (click on this picture a couple of
times to get it in full resolution).
