When we painted my 320 I also wanted the Lancair logo on the side in the trim color. So, I got a decent sized Lancair logo on paper and my painter friend took it to a company in town that makes vinyl decals. The decal guy scanned in the logo, scaled it to size (20% enlargement), and cut a "negative" vinyl decal. We then used this as a stencil for painting. The end result was fantastic!! Take a look at http://www.lancaironline.net/pix/olsen and look under the "painting" album. You can see my painter friend pulling the vinyl stencil mask off the tail numbers as well as the finished product of the logo on the side of the fuselage (click on this picture a couple of times to get it in full resolution).
