Curtis:
I had the same experience with the aileron idler arms in the hardware
bracket kit. When I put the two parts together the ends of the arms
were way too far apart, but found when I turned the flat arm over the
holes lined up with a different angle between the two arms, one that was
as the manual specifies. Perhaps I switched flat arms as well; at any
rate I was able to find the proper orientation for both assemblies. I
then placed an index mark on all four parts so I wouldn't prove Murphy's
Law correct again when I riveted them together.
I have a question for you and any others who have had recent kit
deliveries. In spite of the warnings to remove all peel ply, I can't
say that I've been able to find any in appreciable amounts. I've found
a few small bits and pieces, as might remain after the large pieces were
pulled off. I haven't called the factory to ask about this, but it sure
looks as if they are removing the peel ply before the kit is shipped.
Comments anyone? My kit was shipped last month, February.
