Jones" : One of the products I am going to sell on my website someday are adjustable NACA ducts. The surface tangent to the aircraft stays the same but the ramp drops down and the opening increases. This takes care of most problems and reduces noise. (and makes your airplane go faster.....). The ducts could be completely closed too.
