I also have the short engine mount.  Only the govenor's spring loaded post and
control arm go inside the bowl (1 to 1.5 inches in), everything else is
outside the bowl.

Unfortunately, I have loaned out my pictures.  Otherwise, I would scan an
appropriate one in and send it as as attachment.

I made a mockup of my firewall out of 1/8 inch plexiglas.  With the engine
mounted on the "mount, but off the airplane, I could bolt the see-thru plastic
firewall  on to the engine to work on firewall layouts.  I could then use the
plastic firewall against the airplane as a template for drilling parts
mounting holes.

Barring days of thunderstorms across northern Florida, I will be a Sun'n'Fun.
