I'm told that when you get your engine, you're getting serious about
completing your project. So,....

On the last Friday in April, my wife and I will be taking the truck to
Williamsport, PA. I want to go there to visit the baseball Hall of Fame and
she wants to go there to the Lycoming factory to take delivery of a new
engine, so I guess I'll compromise and do both!

Now for the dumb question. Should I go ahead and modify the injector system to
wind up with a front mounted injector? If you don't, you need to purchase air
scoop part number SC-02 and exhaust system part number 3-4. If you do, you
need air scoop part number SC-01 and exhaust system part number 5.

According to Doug at Lancair, the principal benefit from this modification is
a shallower bottom cowl/air scoop arrangement with air inlet closer to the prop.

Have any of you done this mod and what was the final cost? I suspect that both
the sump and pipes would need to be swapped out with the new sump requiring
some machine work.

Is all of this worth voiding the warranty on your new Lycoming engine?????
