Someone out there will doubtlessly knows more about this than I but it is my
understanding that WD40 was never intended to be used as a `rusted bolt'
fixer... WD40 was originally produced to be used in distributors of
jeeps/trucks/tanks to get rid of water or shed water when crossing rivers.
Its an oil based product that will dissipate water and allow and engine
which has lost its spark from the distributor getting wet, to get it all
working again. Later it was found to work w/ some success on rusted bolts
and what not.. and has since been used to that effect. However its not what
it was originally created to be used for.
Just my 2 cents `New flash'.
