Bill,

I just connected my cabin heat system last week and it works great -- I
even get a noticeable amount of heat while taxiing.  I had the same 3
port heat muff as you but my engine is injected, so I don't need the one
for carb heat.  Had that port capped off a couple years ago but when
installing found that the orientation of the remaining two ports didn't
fit -- interference with #1 air induction tube or the B&C 60A alternator
-- take your pick.  The end result is that I had to have a local guy
make another muff for me with the ports slightly relocated.

A couple of notes on my installation:
  1. I used 2" ports and SCAT line so I get plenty of warm air volume
to
the cabin.
  2. Clearance for the SCAT line as it passes the #3 exhaust header
is EXTREMELY
tight along the cowl.  My answer was to make a 6" segment of AL
tube, flatten
it slightly into an oval cross section, and clamp it to the #3
header (with
exhaust wrap to keep the heat down around the AL tube).
  3. I used the cabin heat air box from ACS (or Vans) that has 2"
ports on it,
rather than the one from Lancair.

Sorry about the blurry photo...

Dan
