What is the Direct Drive Fuel Control mod and what does it do, and why is it only required for the less than 840hp models?

Is this mod required for the hybrids like the Super 2 (a TPE331-2 with -6 insides).

thanks

For anyone concidering a Garrett 331, if it is a model that developes less
than 840hp, make sure that the Direct Drive Fuel Control mod has been
accomplished.
