For what it worth, Ron Monson, at Performance Aero Engines, has TSIO-550
engines that address some of the known problems. He offers "The Blueprinted
Engine Overhaul". I have ordered one for my L2K #235. The price, for a 1st
run overhauled engine, is about $48,000.
Even though it is a 1st run engine, I think, the finished product is a much
better engine than a new one from the factory.
I believe Lee Behel has an IO-550 from Performance Aero in his Legacy he
races at Reno.
