When I started looking around for a/c jacks, the best deal I could find was
in the neighborhood of $300 per pair. For this reason, I decided to make my
own. You can see a photo of my efforts in the attachments page of Marvin's
web site. I've since had opportunity to see some of those $300 jacks that
others have purchased. They are a pretty sad representation of materials,
craftsmanship and stability. I've got less than $125 of materials wrapped
up in these jacks and I spent probably a day to a day and a half building
them. Since I'd never arc welded before, much of the time represents the
learning curve. A good welder could do them in half the time.

John's picture up on the site for a few days. Should be there by
Wednesday. <Marv>}
