Michael D. Smith asks about a hydraulic filter.
Thanks to a tip from Brent Regan I was able to get a suitable filter from:
AIRFLOW PERFORMANCE
PO BOX 3364
SPARTANBURG, SC 29304-3364
Phone 864 576 4512
FAX 864 576 0201
Cost of filter and housing (10microns) $116.
Etra element $25
Total with shipping $150.61
I installed it forward of the wheel well cover between the gear doors in
my IVP about a week ago. I've cycled the hydraulic system multiple
times since and it seems to be happy. Be certain you put it in the
return line - not the pressure side.
I am sending a digital picture of the installation to Marve Kaye for
display on his photo pages if you want to see how it looks.
The odd looking aluminum block in the picture - the one with black
plastic attached and two red wires coming out is not really a time
bomb - it is an electric/hydraulic cartridge style manifold for my
spoiler/speed brakes.
