This comment is really only directed toward the turbines which I know
has shown the largest (or perhaps the only recent) Lancair approved
gross weight increase.  I know of three turbine conversion kits
currently on the market for the IVPT.  By conversions I'm referring to
after market parts (engine mount, cowlings, firewall cutout bowl, nose
gear assemblies, belly tanks from 10 gals to 40 gals, etc which
transform the standard IVP to the propjet.  Each of these conversion
kits have different engine mounts placing the engine in significantly
different locations in relation to the firewall depending on how far
into the firewall the engine is set. (I realize we are referring to an
engine that weighs less than the TSIO 550 but it is also very long with
many heavy parts very far forward of the wings).  I had one in my shop
for many months I was amazed that it could be hung and still look good).
Further I believe each of this kits puts a major portion of the
additional, heavy, jet fuel (which is contributing to the increased
gross weight of the aircraft) forward of the wing (see the attached
Skoppe turbine conversion as an example).

Can any of the turbine people tell us how these factors have impacted
their CG's if at all?
