John,

The flaps on my Legacy did not fit very well and other Legacy builders
have noted the same problem.  Not only do the leading edges of the flaps
droop unevenly but there is an uneven gap between the flap and the wing
pocket while the flap is in the full up position.  One solution is to shim the flap hinge brackets on the rear spar to get
the leading edge of the flap to match the lower wing skin.  I used various
combinations of AN washers between the spar and the hinge brackets until I
was satisfied with the fit.  Then I applied a release between the spar and
each of the hinge brackets.  Longer bolts may be required if you have to
shim the brackets a significant amount.  This is a trial and error process
and takes time.

Some builders have built a filler/spacer onto the flap pocket to close the
uneven gap between the flap.  I have not done that yet.  Maybe other
Legacy builders can comment on how they addressed this problem.
