Cabosil is fumed silica.
Silica is heavy. It seems light because of the bulk dry density. I
do not believe there is any significant strength imparted by using fumed
silica. It's purpose is to give a fluid thixotropic
characteristics; like catsup, you can't get it out of the bottle and then all of
a sudden after you have disturbed it just enough, you get it all.
