I used the Newtex Industries Zetex 600 aluminized silica cloth for heat protection on the lower cowling on N170BR. Over 800 hours later there is NO indication of heat stress. This is a stock cowling. No high temperature epoxy or other coating. The Zetex was glued on with 3M 77 spray adhesive and the edges were sealed with high temperature RTV silicone (the red stuff you get at auto parts stores). Repairs can be made by using silicone to glue on a patch heavy duty kitchen aluminum foil. The picture below was taken at ~750 hours TTSN.

I also lined the nose gear well in Zetex for extra fire protection.

FYI, the boxes contain the K&N air filters and the bypass doors are on top.
