One of the benifits that ECI claims for the CermiNil cylinder is that they breakin during the first hour of operation. Most pilots think that cylinder ring seating can be spotted by the lowering  and stabilization of oil consumption. This is false. Ring seating can be spotted by a drop of about 50 degrees of CHT. You can actually see it happen right there - on the runup/test stand.

You are right to avoid cermichrome cylinders since they are notorious for wearing long before TBO.  However, check:
 
 
for TITAN CermiNil cylinders.  It has taken me forever to break in these ECI cylinders.
