Just a few comments to some of the recent posts...

Curtis...congrats on finally opening the crate and getting started.  You
have
just reached the highpoint of the entire building experience. (At least for
another 5-7 years if at all).  Of course, Lancair is wonderful at taking
customer's
money, and delivering a crate.  Wait until you start calling them up with
questions, and start having problems with the construction.  Good luck to
you.
Savor this special moment...you'll be looking back on it often...

Ed...how often have I heard those conversations with Lancair...lol..."Gee,
that
never happened to us before...Gee, I don't know what to tell you...Gee, you
have to buy it from us as an extra..."

Ross...One thing about fitting the cowling...I waited about 3 weeks after I
had
hung the engine before I started fitting the cowling.  It fit beautifully !
 Unfortunately,
after I started the engine up a few times, and put about 1 hour on it...the
fit was
gone ! The engine had sagged about 3/8 inch...but by then I had already
installed
the nut plates and everything.  My advice...START YOUR ENGINE...run it for
a
while before you trim the cowling.
