The plans are wrong and so is the Lancair rep that said it was ok to have hinge lines that were not
parallel The flaps can interfere and jamb the ailerons in some combinations of positions That is why
you see 235s with a wedge shaped gap between end of the flaps and aileron.  Make them parallel There
is plenty of material to widen one end  (outboard) of the ailerons. This was corrected on the 320
and you can use that measurement. I do have a .DWG (AutoCAD) showing all the dimensions of the 235
wing components if any one needs it.
Another error, that was fixed on the 320 is the rudder counterbalance. On the 235 the bottom of the
counterbalance is shown as parallel to the cabin Longerons. It should be perpendicular to the rudder
hinge line. This is an easy fix. Just cut the counterbalance perpendicular to the hinge line and add
the same area to the forward part of the counterbalance that remains. Use the half round lead bars,
that come in the kit, and flox  (or lead shot slurry)to make up the extra area and covered that with
3bid. If you look at the rudder hinge installation instructions you will see the reason for this.
Close the opening made by cutting of the bottom of the counter balance (after putting the rest of
the lead you need in) with a piece of foam covered with 2bid. Don't worry about finish, the rudder
needs lots of micro anyway.
