The flap hinges are the only place I would not recommend the Teflon =
tubing.  The forces on inboard most hinge are very high.  On my plane, the =
hinge extrusions were acting like shears and cutting into the Teflon.  =
After one year in service some of the Teflon could not be removed without =
destroying it because it was cut and offset at ever interface of the hinge =
halves.  The Teflon works well in more lightly loaded hinges such as the =
ailerons.
My flaps are now using a tight tolerance hinge pin with reamed extrusions. =
 This issue came up about a year ago and should be well documented in the =
archives.

 Those of you who are using teflon spaghetti tubing in the hinges of
your control surfaces, what size tubing are you using, and what size
hinge pin?  Any reason not to use the spaghetti tubing in the flap
hinges? =20

Also, how do you know when your flap hinges are worn beyond tolerance?
My inboard hinges seem awfully sloppy.  My airframe has about 480 hrs.
