This morning's run... 25", 2500 rpm, leaned for best power (100 ROP) = 201 KTAS per http://www.reacomp.com/true_airspeed/index.html . My previous 197 knot run was with mixture full rich per my A&P's break-in instructions and pretty bumpy air. Now the disappointing news (for me). Full-tilt boogey... 3,200 density altitude, 3C OAT, WOT (27"), 2650 rpm (still haven't fixed the weird RPM problem), leaned to 150 ROP... only yielded 209 KTAS. Waaaaa!!! Dare I hope that since I've only got about 2 hours on the freshly overhauled engine I'm getting 8 or 9 knots worth of new engine friction that will go away as the engine is broken in?? Guess that's a bit of a stretch, eh? OK, Henney, so maybe you've got a little speed edge on me, but I still think I can work a guns solution on your sorry butt. Check six! OK, Mr. 217POINT-EIGHT-SIX knots, I've crossed your 200 knot threshold.  This morning's run...  25", 2500 rpm, leaned for best power (100 ROP) = 201 KTAS per http://www.reacomp.com/true_airspeed/index.html.

Waaaaa!!!
