Congrats on the first flight!

Your gear door experience is exactly what I experienced on my first IVP.   They were fine on the ground but hung up in flight.

The answer was to stiffen the sliders to 1/4" teflon rather than the cheap and thin stuff Lancair provided at the time.  

I understand this is the "new" material they are now providing but may not have been available when you bought your kit.  (See Vern for details)

Making the sliders more robust countered the air forces in flight and everything worked fine.
