My concern is that I plan to install a wide-deck Lycoming IO-540 (probably a K model) in my Legacy which I understand to be more than a bit heavier than the Continental 550. I would also like a 3 blade Aluminum prop (the AeroComposite is too expensive) and ulitmately a PRISM system with a dual battery electrical layout. I don't really like the builder's manual location for the main 28V battery aft of the baggage compartment bulkhead but am obviously concerned about moving it any further forward given the above list of of "wants". Ideally, of course, I would like the empty CG with just me in the plane to fall at or close to the forward CG limit. While I realize that this is far too many variables for specific advice, I'm looking for what some real world experience has been re: "as built" CG location so I can start to make some semi-informed guesses about how best to proceed and begin the decision process on the necessary trade-offs. Since this is a narrowly focused question, please do not hesitate to contact me off list. Thanks for any advice/help. Mark Davis Legacy 162 E-mail: mdavis@adnc.com Phone: 619-222-3055
