Last year at Air Venture I asked about the possibility of some construction pics to supplement the Legacy manual. I was told by a member of the staff that that was indeed already in "the works". They went on to say that they wanted to get the photos organized first before releasing them. They thought each picture should be referenced to a specific page in the manual. That's a good idea and I agree with that approach in principle, however, the process seems to be taking quite a while. Perhaps that level of organization, while nice to have, is unnecessary from a practical standpoint. I just need them to be available somewhere. I personally don't need page references to the manual. I don't mind finding the ones I need for myself. So... my suggestion is to create a "builders only" area on the Lancair website and post some "factory approved" construction pics ASAP. Protect it with a password if necessary. As it currently stands I am looking at quite a few pics that different individuals have posted to the web. (And, I might add, I am very grateful to those who have taken the time to do this for the rest of us). The problem is that I have no way of knowing whether or not the examples I'm looking at were constructed the way the Lancair designers/ engineers originally intended. The manual is very good and I usually think I understand what I am supposed to do, however, a picture of the process or the completed task or part could go a long way to relieving any doubts or uncertainties. I think construction pics could even cut down on the number of calls your support people have to handle. IMHO, It could be good for everyone. Thanks again for asking and good luck with your move north. Ron Laughlin Legacy 156
