Have a similar story that I wanted to share: I just completed working on a Lancair 360 main gear and everytime the main gear was shook the over center linkage would come unlocked. After examing closely you could see that the main gear accuator rods were bent. With it being bent it was allowing it to come unlocked. You've got to think about it as though the acuator does 2 things.
#1- lift the gear up and down. #2-pin the over center linkage into position. Come to find out the reason the rod was bent was that the rod end was never properly adjusted during construction. You must be able to pull the bolt out of the rod end without any friction where it connects to the over center linkage. The other bad thing was that during emergency gear lock...the gear would not come out of the gear well. It is VERY important that the accuator cylinder on the nose gear bolt can also be pulled out with no friction. What happens on the nose gear when the gear is down and locked, it breaks the attachment of the cylinder on the nose gear tunnel where the phenolic is. All lay-ups are designed to take downward force, not upward force. After discovering this, I wanted to pass on my recent experience so that by checking yours, this tidbit may save you a lot of work and a lot of grief.
