Thanks for the clarification on the 235.  If the main spar is exactly the same as the 320/360, It was way overbuilt for the 235.  How the devil did anyone build a 235 at an 880 pound empty weight with the same wing as the 320/360?

Let's see:

235's can be different:
Ventral fin, flap operation, nose gear change, 290/320/other engine, fuel loads, etc.  all adding weight.

320's can be different: larger horiz stab, longer engine mount, 360/360-turbo/other engine, prop type, fuel loads, outback gear, wing extensions, etc, all adding weight.

The Legacy seems pretty resistant to changes other than engine and minor fuel load.

The IV/P, Winglets, Air conditioning, any powerplant built on this planet that produces more than 300 HP and video game panels.

Yep, these are planes with incredible "customization" abilities.  The edges of the envelope are always being tested by someone.
