But neither did he say anything about the 1/2" free play in the aileron
control system, nor did he notice a fairly significant leak in the
port fuel tank through the aft spar attach bolts."

Lee, I'm somewhat sceptical to say the least...this does not sound like
the Don Goetz I know and with whom I have flown.
