Before the Lasar ignition system, my airplane didn't use any gas at all!
Now it uses about 7 1/2 gph at 75%.
All seriousness aside, we had the Lasar system in from the beginning. Never
flew the plane without it. It's supposed to increase both performance and
economy and I believe it does. It always starts on the first blade and above
10,000 we get 180 + kts with a burn of a little less than 7 gph. Shutting
off one mag during runup causes the system to shut off for 20 seconds. This
is so you can check the basic mag functions. I notice that the engine runs
less smooth when the Lasar system is off.

I know that this is all antidotal information, completely lacking any hard
numbers data. Sorry. Is there someone who has retro-fitted the Lasar system
and has some "before" data to compare with?
