Now it uses about 7 1/2 gph at 75%. All seriousness aside, we had the Lasar system in from the beginning. Never flew the plane without it. It's supposed to increase both performance and economy and I believe it does. It always starts on the first blade and above 10,000 we get 180 + kts with a burn of a little less than 7 gph. Shutting off one mag during runup causes the system to shut off for 20 seconds. This is so you can check the basic mag functions. I notice that the engine runs less smooth when the Lasar system is off. I know that this is all antidotal information, completely lacking any hard numbers data. Sorry.
