The shrouds, top and bottom, I received with the kit was made on polyester resin (not good) and covered with primer (gel??) coat (worst). These parts are really very far from the high quality of all the other parts supplied with the kit.
 
I will have to modify the lower shroud in order to fit the engine, an IO-320 with bottom mounted injector and also to procedure with some adjustments on the flange to the firewall. I have two question:
 
Do I have to take special procedures to bond with Hysol or epoxy resin on polyester parts?
 
Removing all that primer coat represents a lot of sanding ours and a lot of dust. The coat is so deep in the fiber that I have found two situations: or I do not remove all the coat or I will damage the fiber. Both alternatives are not acceptable. Suggestions and ideas, please.
