   If you'll permit, I need to add to my reply yesterday regarding "rat
trap" overcenter link springs. I didn't want to seem down on something
without a valid reason. If you observe the action of the original
"screen door" springs, they exert maximum force just prior to overcenter
link snap, where it should occur. In contrast, the rat trap springs, by
design, exert their maximum force at full retract and minimum force at
overcenter link snap. Not a good design.
