We are engaged in an inherently risky endeavor.  Flying in experimental
airplanes, sometimes modifying them to suit our personal preferences and
looking for a "better way" to do things on them.  When someone like
EngineAir or Lancair or Sierra Flight Systems or even Blue Mountain comes
along with very promising technology we weigh the anticipated benefits vs
the penalties for failure and make our choice.  I want that choice.  I want
to encourage anyone who has a "better way" to develop it.  I understand it
may take years (if ever) to reach a level I will accept.  If I buy something
that doesn't work out for whatever reason, I made the choice; I will deal
with the consequences.

I only know EngineAir from what I have read about them.  Sounds to me they
have tried VERY hard to solve their problems and poured a LOT more money
into R&D than originally anticipated (sound familiar in the Airplane
Business?).  I admire the fortitude of investors who continue to plow money
into these ventures when the going gets tough.  I am sure those who have
committed to EngineAir V8s want to see the company survive to resolve the
problems.

We are very fortunate to have the freedom to seek and benefit from new
technology and the investors to profit from it (am I sounding too much like
a Republican here?)  I believe the buyer or user is personally responsible
for making an informed decision.  Let's keep the information flowing and try
to keep the tone civil and the comments productive.
