We just got N104PT certified. You need 2 plates. The ?Data Plate? is a
standard issue metal plate about 3?x4? which you can get from Lancair.
Take it to an engraver and have him fill in the info required. Ours is
glued to the back of the pressure bulkhead in the baggage compartment.
The other plate is the one I think you are referring to. It has the info
you mentioned, and can be VERY small (I think ours is ½? x 1?). It is
glued on the rear fuselage side just aft and below the leading edge of
the hor. stab. N104PT made its first flight at Redmond on Sunday, with our DAR Dave
Morss at the controls. His report was that it was very stable, quiet and
had good straight-ahead stall characteristics. We have a power surge in
the turbine to take care of before any further flights.
We started this project on 10/15/01 and it flew 10/13/02. Good thing no
one bet against us flying within a year!
