OK, so much for theory and its application to the Legacy. I thought your question was about normal gear action. If the normal action is perfect, great. If the emergency gear down works, also great even if there is some rubbing and it takes longer (as long as things don't jam). On the 320/360, the "rat trap" over-center link springs are weak and it can take many seconds for the mains to lock down. In the air, this process is speeded up by yawing the aircraft. Since the Legacy doors are so large and curved, maybe the airflow will assist in their opening.
