yea, mine did that too.. Carsten has been fighting with his inner main
gear doors, mainly to keep the darn things closed in-flight. (Darrel has
locks on his doors :-) and has come up with a larger/stronger
hyd cyl to hold them up. http://rob.com/lancair/2002.reno/P9174079.jpg
I switched over to those cyls but rather than put the spring in-line with the
cyl, I put it inside the gear door. This means that I get a progressively stronger
door opening force (while its closed, the spring is almost inline with
the hinge (close to center) so it doesn't exert as much opening force fighting
the hyd cyl that tries to keep it closed. This helps alot with the speed of the door
opening so it doesn't drag on the tire. http://rob.com/lancair/2002.10/7spring.jpg
other ideas to keep the doors closed:
1) twist in the door so the back side closes first
2) do the gear door SB as tall as you can (the air in the I beam is the strength)
3) hyd accumulator http://rob.com/lancair/2002.03/7shelf.jpg
