On the subject of rudder cable fairings. I too considered covering them up
and replacing them for a smaller hole to accomidate the cable only. I
realized that If I did that there would be no place for the ventilation air
to escape. I have flown in 2 lancairs and have noticed that more is
definitely bettere when it comes to ventilation.

The big ugly uneven fairing serve 2 purposes. Exit hole and vent air
exhaust.

Just a thought.
