The performance of the 235/320 is quite high, wing loadings, landing and
stall speeds, approach to landings are steeper than typical and these birds
must be flown into the ground effect for safest flying.  Such
characteristics are foreign to most spam can and witchita wagon flyers.  If
you want to get a hot rod for the club may I suggest a certified aircraft
such as a grumman cheetah or globe swift although they have their quirks as
well.  In any case the lancairs take a steep learning curve to become
comfortable in the cockpit.

There is also the question of insurance which many of us Lancair owners are
now becoming aware of.  I doublt you could get insurance in a club
environment with the Lancair.  Perhaps an, (forgive me guys), an RV8 might
fill your need with a lot more forgiveness in the flight envelope while
still giving you the thrill of a hot rod airplane. Insurance might be a
simpler problem as well.
