FWIW, I tried to stall the company ES when I took it on a test flight.
Carsten was with me and my poor unwitting wife was in the back seat watching
the landscape slide by.
I asked Carsten if I could try a stall and he said sure. We went to idle
and decelerated (clean). When the stick was full aft, we had no buffet and
the nose still hadn't dropped off, I asked when the plane would stall,
Carsten said, "this is it". We were mushing along wings level in a fairly
good rate of descent, but I still had positive roll control. To recover, I
just relaxed back pressure, smoothly added power and picked up a positive
rate of climb. I don't recall if the factory ES has stall strips or not.
It was about the most benign stall I can ever recall in a GA airplane. I
just hope mine behaves as well! I'm going to try mine without stall strips
(I have AOA) and will add them if I feel the need before I take it to the
paint shop.
