My hangar partner, John, has a Falco that he built some years ago. He is also a retired Navy carrier pilot, so he has an almost instinctive need for a throttle left/stick right setup. His airplane has the standard quadrant in the center console (Throttle, prop, mixture) but he also has designed and installed an interconnected quadrant on the left wall next to the left seat. It seems John has the best of both worlds - doesn't matter how one might like to fly his airplane - left or right handed - (at least from the left seat) with his set-up, you could have it both ways. As I understand it, it wasn't all that difficult to design and fabricate. I'd say it was very reliable too - John's Jalco has been flying for about 13 years. As far as having a problem changing hands when diddling the radios, one usually doesn't do a lot of throttle jockying for 90%+ of a flight, so radio diddling doesn't seem to be much of a problem (John flys in the system most of the time and doesn't seem to be bothered dialing a new frequency. Bottom line, you too can fly right handed from the left seat without diminishing the re-sale value of your Lancair. Dan Schaefer
