I used to fly a Velocity, throttle left stick right.
One trip in IFR will show the flaw of this. Trying to change frequency
while bouncing around, reaching across your body is at best difficult,
not to mention extra time spent doing it and the overall distraction. If
you're flying IFR much, get used to flying with the stick in your left
hand. It should only take a short time.
If not flying IFR it probably would not matter.

PS In boxing the left is used as the set up. Jabbing the opponent while
setting them up for the power of the right, with the full weight of the
body behind that punch.
