Gary is right. My kit was from '89 (last century), too. The original switches had external adjustment nuts on them and they did not work very well. Then there was 2nd generation switches with an internal adjustment - not good either. Then 3rd gen switches with an external adjusting screw where some are good, some not so good. These new switches (4th gen) are better, but require that you change the way they are mounted because they sit higher. I have one 3rd gen sw (DN) and one 4th gen sw (UP).
If you have the old pump with the small black reservoir, just wait till you replace it with the new pump and big plastic reservoir.
