I posted a note about the Bosch automotive relays here earlier in the week
and thought I'd get a little update added. Upon returning home from my
Fargo ordeal I found a couple packages waiting for me in my screen room...
UPS had delivered some stuff I was waiting for from ACS and the relays from
Brandon Products Group. When I picked up the latter package I thought it
was an empty box... the relays were actually in there but they weigh next
to nothing! (I'll get actual weight when I go to the shop tomorrow and can
check them out on the gram scale.) Upon inspection of these little jewels
I was amazed to find the current capacity of the 'large' relays listed as
75A @ 12VDC. Very cool indeed. My only complaint would be that the coil
contacts are press-on terminals, but they are arranged in a T-formation and
I'm sure there is a standard plug made which will fit onto them very
easily. They also don't have an indicator terminal like the Ford relays,
but putting the indicator light in parallel to the coil will solve that
shortcoming in a hurry. If you're vacillating about whether or not to
replace those Ford boat anchors that came with the kit, you can stop now.
