The paint is made with a laser which cuts a material into small prisms to refract the light. It cost $60 an ounce....OUCH!! But, it was reduced with another material in order to stretch it's coverage. It looks very similar to the paint that I saw on the Lancair Legacy prototype. I have it on a black background whereas the Legacy has it on an off-white background. If they were both the same background, I don't think I would be able to discern which is which. If I have it painted again I think that I would reduce it even more to see if the density of the prisms could be decreased. I think that would make a really nice effect to have it ghosted over the base coat. The flame pattern on my bike is ghosted, but I think that I would thin it even more on a white or light background.
