I think it is premature to try to calculate flight planning numbers. We do have the belly tank, and speed brakes are not needed, so that gives about 122 gals, I am told. I don't think you can build this airplane for anything like $250K. It is certainly not one that should be built on a budget in your garage, and I dont know why anyone would even think of building a 4PT entirely by themselves using a $30K engine. You want that $85K engine up their hauling you along at 20,000 ft.! That''s s the last place you should be looking to save money. My understanding of the pressurization is that it is done (as is the air conditioning). The problem was that Walter had some work going on with the low pressure bleed air version (for Beech), which had to be completed before Lancair could get one of these engines. The low pressure bleed air allows for use of the same system as is currently used in the piston version. The engines are swapped out, so I imagine it is back in the air (my info is about 3 weeks old). We don't expect this to be a replacement for our Bonanza. It is an Aston Martin, not a Buick. Range is only important in that you need to know what it is. Other than that, the four of us plan to get around Hawaii very quickly and have fun doing it....Brian Barbata...N104PT >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LML website: http://members.olsusa.com/mkaye/maillist.html LML Builders' Bookstore: http://www.buildersbooks.com/lancair Please remember that purchases from the Builders' Bookstore assist with the management of the LML.
