Thanks for the input guys!
Several other questions were,
How can you handle the switches?
The manipulation problem should not be a factor as a starter switch and
prime button will be located approximately two inches apart so that they can
be manipulated with one hand (left). I will keep the standard key operated
magneto switches for security purposes and operate it with my right hand.
What will I do if the battery is low? I guess the big factor is normal
hoping there's enough battery to make it over top dead center, until the
propeller shows its passing top dead center and accelerating and then turn
the magneto switches on when it is turning freely.
Jack is correct when he points out that the timing DOES change from 24
degrees to some other value. Less than 24 degrees /and more than zero
degrees BTDC.
My TSI0 550 has S6RSC-25P Bendix magnetos with two identical impulse
couplings..
The summary is that the modification and procedure change may be of little
help, but only in the increase in the inertia that you're able to gather.
But then again, any improvement, may be enough of a help.
The real solution appears to be in electronic ignition systems.
I intend to look in this direction for the long-term solution!
