I have lost reference to a website and I hope that you can help me retrieve
it. Quite recently I was referred to another aviation website perhaps by
someone from this Lancair forum. The lost website convincingly (to me, a
rank amateur and non-engineer) argued that the use of Aeroshell 30w oil
provides better engine wear protection at every OAT and engine operating
temperature than does 15w50 and/or other oil types. The lengthy article was
supported by test results of radioactive cylinder lining material being
removed in particle form into the oil and sump.
Now a friend who is a PHD chemical engineer and fellow Lancair builder/flyer
wants to review that article/website and I can't find it. Have any of you
read that article and do you know of that website? Thanks, Greg Nelson
